What type of work will you be doingWhat assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis

You will have two key focus areas outlined below:

• Solve complex ML problems in collaboration with Engineering / Product / Business teams
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders across different internal teams to identify ML related use cases
  • Deliver 3-4 impactful ML models every year across diverse domains within VMware (IT automation, Information security, Sales Marketing, Operations, Finance etc)
  • Collaborate with engineers in the implementation and deployment of ML pipelines (data ingestion, feature extraction, training, testing and validation, inference, and continual learning) in production
• Contribute to the Applied ML research and innovation goals
  • Follow relevant work being done in academic and other research organizations to be as close as possible to the state-of-the-art in the fields of ML and AI
  • Knowledge sharing mentoring other team members on best ML practices and latest techniques
  • Co-author 1-2 papers every year, in collaboration with Staff/Principal Data Scientists in the team
  • File 1 new patent every year based on the Applied ML projects developed in collaboration with Product

What you bring:

• Master s degree preferably in Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Math, or other quantitative fields
• Hands on skills in SQL industry-standard machine-learning stack in Python/R (pandas, sklearn, tf, ..)
• Experience in implementing ML models, data pipelines and testing frameworks for production use
• Working experience in analytics, data mining, and/or predictive modeling, and data interpretation
